Marine Power International Pty Ltd has become aware that certain MerCruiser Sterndrive Packages require replacement of the Polymer Steering Fluid Cooler to ensure the safety and reliability of their MerCruiser package.

It is possible that the tube which carries seawater in the Power Steering Cooler could break causing the engine to overheat and seawater to be discharged into the bilge of the boat. Because it is possible for the cooler to split without warning, replacement of the cooler should be scheduled and completed as soon as possible.

The boat should not be operated until the repair has been completed.

People with an affected engine (as per the above table) should contact their nearest MerCruiser, Mercury or Mariner Dealer who will arrange for the engine to be inspected and rectified at the expense of Marine Power International Pty Ltd.
